About the Internet Marketing Academy

With Internet marketing changing at such a rapid pace, it has become increasingly difficult for marketing professionals and business owners to stay on top of things. And the traditional curriculum covered in undergraduate and even graduate educational programs in marketing and advertising, do not provide up–to–date knowledge and skills in Internet marketing.

It is for this reason that one of the top Internet marketing firms, Search Engine Academy, decided to help provide education on Internet marketing. The vision was to create an Internet marketing school for business owners and marketing professionals – the Internet Marketing Academy.

Barry Byers, founder of Search Engine Academy, began teaching search engine optimization (SEO) and pay per click (PPC) in 2002. With the growth of social media and Search Engine Academy’s growth working in this rapidly evolving channel, Barry decided to add social media as a third course taught through the Internet Marketing Academy.
