Getting your site found in the search engines can be done cheaply. There are 3 things your website should have: keywords throughout the site, good Titles using your keywords (Titles are at the very top of your browser), and links pointing to your site. To find links, go to Google and type in your keywords along with the word 'directory'. For example, if your site sells auto parts, then you would type 'auto parts directory' (without the quotes) into Google. This will give you a plethora of links to submit your site to. Good luck!
